The loved ones of teens missing after a deadly fire at a venue in a Switzerland's ski resort are facing an painful wait for answers and appealing for information about their children via social media.

The inferno ripped through the a popular bar in Cans-Montana, located in the mountains of the Valais region, in the small hours of the first day of the year. Circulated footage reveal the ceiling catching alight as beverages with fireworks are held aloft.

Emergency services have warned that it could take considerable time to identify the those who perished of the tragedy, which resulted in the death of four dozen individuals and hurt another 119. Officials stated on the latest update that 113 of the injured have been accounted for, with efforts still underway to identify the remaining few.

In the waiting period, relatives have been using social media to plead for clues about their friends who were present at the venue that night.

Young athlete Emanuele Galeppini, 16, was last heard from around midnight on New Year's Eve, his father said.

One of those is Emanuele Galeppini, a 16-year-old junior golfer, who hailed from Italy but now residing in Dubai.

The Italian Golf Federation has released a tribute that he is dead, without mentioning the fire, honoring a "young athlete who represented dedication and authentic values."

His parent, told media that his son was at the bar and was last heard from around the new year. An representative has stated that a formal confirmation of his death is not yet.

Giovanni Tamburi, 16, is also among the missing. His parent said that he had been on holiday but had ventured out with friends and found himself at the bar.

"Someone with him told me they escaped after the fire erupted and that he had his phone with him, but then at a certain point he they were separated," she recounted, adding he had been wearing a distinctive gold chain.

One of his educators said, "I remember his good nature and positive demeanor, alongside great responsibility. Often ask if help out."

Alice Kallergis, who holds dual Swiss and Greek citizenship but lives full-time in Switzerland, was also at the bar on New Year's Eve, according to sources.

Her sibling has posted an appeal online, saying the family has had "no updates" regarding the teenager or the three friends she was with, who are also reported missing.

Consular authorities from her other nation say they are continuing to monitor the case.
